Why Choose McCabe Organic Premium Sesame Oil

McCabe Organic Premium Sesame Oil is made from organic sesame seeds that are roasted before pressing, resulting in a deep amber color and a rich, toasty flavor that's become a defining ingredient in Korean and broader Asian cooking. This roasting process develops the bold, nutty character that sets it apart from lighter, unroasted sesame oils.

Because of its concentrated flavor, this oil is typically used in smaller amounts as a seasoning or finishing touch rather than a primary cooking oil. It's a staple in marinades, namul (seasoned vegetable side dishes), dipping sauces, and as a final drizzle over finished dishes to add aroma and depth right before serving.

With its rich, toasted profile and organic quality, McCabe Organic Premium Sesame Oil is an essential pantry ingredient for anyone cooking Korean or Asian-inspired meals at home.

Rich, Roasted Flavor

McCabe Organic Premium Sesame Oil is pressed from roasted organic sesame seeds, delivering a deep, toasty aroma essential to Korean cooking.

A Finishing Touch for Every Dish

From marinades to namul to noodle bowls, this bold sesame oil adds rich, nutty depth to a wide range of recipes.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's most commonly used in Korean cooking as a seasoning and finishing oil rather than a primary cooking fat. It's added to marinades, mixed into seasoned vegetable side dishes (namul), stirred into dipping sauces, and drizzled over finished dishes like bibimbap, japchae, or soups for a final layer of toasty flavor.
Because it's made from roasted sesame seeds, this oil has a lower smoke point than neutral cooking oils and is best used for low-heat cooking, finishing, or as a raw seasoning rather than high-heat frying, which can cause it to burn and turn bitter.
Because the flavor is concentrated, a small amount, often just a teaspoon or so, is enough to season a dish. Start with a small quantity and adjust to taste, since too much can easily overpower other flavors.
Premium Sesame Oil is pressed from roasted sesame seeds, giving it a deeper amber color and bolder, toastier flavor. Extra Virgin Sesame Oil is typically pressed from raw, unroasted seeds, resulting in a lighter color and more delicate, subtle flavor.
Store the oil in a cool, dark place away from heat and direct sunlight, and make sure the cap is tightly resealed after each use. Proper storage helps prevent the oil from oxidizing or developing an off, rancid flavor over time.
Yes, sesame oil is a plant-based ingredient suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets, and it's widely used to add depth of flavor to plant-based dishes without relying on animal fats.

Sad to say it smells on the edge of rancid although the expiration date is 12/25/2027. Werer the seeds used to make it stale, or was it stored too warm? Beyond that edge in the flavor, it is a robust and tasty oil.

Solid everyday finishing oil

Good, clean product. Adds a wonderful toasty kick to cold soba noodles and dumpling dipping sauce.

Great bold flavor, keep away from direct sunlight

The flavor profile is rich and deeply toasted without feeling heavy or oily on the palate. A little bit goes a long way for finishing stir-fries and marinades. Deducted one star only because 12 fl oz goes quickly when cooking Asian dishes daily, but the quality of the oil is easily five stars.

Authentic Korean kitchen quality

Finding good sesame oil that does not taste diluted or stale is difficult in the US. This one smells like fresh-pressed sesame seeds from a traditional mill. I use it as a finishing oil on seasoned spinach namul and beef bulgogi marinade. Truly outstanding flavor.

Fragrant toasted sesame aroma, great in dipping sauce

Super fragrant, toasted sesame aroma. A couple of drops in dipping sauce makes all the difference.

Vibrant toasted flavor and no artificial aftertaste

Most commercial grocery store sesame oils taste flat or scorched, but this one retains rich aroma and smooth body. A few drops over hot tofu with scallions is perfection. Highly recommend keeping a bottle in the pantry!
