A delicious brown rice alternative

The rye berries are tasty and easy to cook in a rice cooker. One cup of grains with 2 1/2 cups of water and 1/4 tsp salt. Set it to brown rice or cook it like regular rice - no presoak! You might need three cups of water. These look good on your plate with the rest of your meal. Recently I didn't have a full cup of rye berries left in the bag, so I mixed them with brown rice, calculating the water for each amount of grain. I loved it, and will mix them again.

High quality Rye berries!

Taste great. Delivered quickly. I needed both cracked and whole rye berries so I just put some in my coffee grinder and broke them up. I made Vollkornbrot and it turned out delicious. I used to manage a German bakery where we made Vollkornbrot every week, and I believe mine was far more outstanding in taste because of the berries being so fresh. I made the bread in a Pullman loaf pan - it's very important to let the mix sit for 24 hrs then bake, and let it cool completely before slicing, as it will be very moist. Turns out wonderful. Value for quality. Delish!

They arrive tiny and hard and cook up chewy and delicious!

These rye groats (or berries) looked tiny and grayish in the bag, but plumped up two to three times in size and turned a tan colour when gently boiled. They taste really good and mix well with whole oat groats, cooking in about the same amount of time. You cook them to your desired degree of chewiness.

Good quality

I've been making bread with a combination of fresh milled flours and this one goes well with einkorn and hard red. No bugs or other dirt, rocks or residue! Very clean!

Great taste and really speeds up the fermentation process.

I love the way it tastes in my sourdough bread. I use 100 g of rye to 900 g of bread flour. It gives it a nice chewy texture without being too heavy on the rye flavor, and the crust is fantastic.

Quality Grain!

Ordered these rye berries for a borscht recipe. Came quickly, appear to be high quality, and they cooked up well in the recipe. Looking forward to a grain salad next. Impossible to find in my local store, so I was glad to find an organic source.
