The grains are evenly roasted and give off a rich, nutty aroma right out of the pouch. Since these are whole loose grains, make sure to pour through a fine mesh strainer when serving. Kept the rest of the 1.5lb bag sealed in my freezer to maintain freshness.

I boiled 3 tablespoons in a gallon of water for around 6 minutes on medium heat and the whole kitchen smelled like warm toasted grain.
